Ramadan Iftar Food Truck, Ready at Sunset

Break the fast

Hot food the minute the sun goes down.

Community iftars, campus iftars and office iftars share one problem: a lot of hungry people at exactly the same moment. A truck cooking to order at the curb meets them there.

When to book

Aim to ask by Monday, December 28, 2026

Ramadan runs about a month, so there are many nights to choose from, and weekend nights are the busiest. Four to six weeks ahead is a good time to send your dates, with a backup night in mind.

A suggestion based on roughly 6 weeks of notice, not a deadline. Nothing is booked until you confirm.

Ramadan iftar & suhoor nights

A food truck for Ramadan iftars.

During Ramadan the fast ends at sunset, and the time shifts a little each evening. Ramadan falls in winter through the late 2020s, which means an early iftar, often before 6:30 pm in the DC area, which suits weekday gatherings at masjids, universities and workplaces.

Suhoor is the pre-dawn meal, and suhoor nights near the end of Ramadan have become a social event for students and young families. Late-night service depends on the date and the location, so ask us about it rather than assume. For iftar, we time the window to open right at maghrib.

Planning tips

  • Send us the sunset time for your date and how soon after it you want food served.
  • Set out your own dates and water for the first moments; we bring the hot meal right after.
  • Pick a backup night in case your first choice is already taken.

Event ideas

Ways to book the truck for Ramadan iftars.

  1. Masjid community iftar

Families break the fast with the water and dates you set out, then walk straight to the window for a hot plate after prayer.

  2. Campus or MSA iftar

Student groups host open iftars for friends of every faith. A fully halal truck keeps the menu simple to explain.

  3. Workplace iftar

Offices that want to include fasting colleagues schedule the truck for sunset, so nobody eats lunch-hour leftovers at their desk.

Menu picks
