Lunar New Year Food Truck for Family and Community Events

New year, new feast

A crowd-pleasing start to the new year.

Lunar New Year parties at schools, offices and community centers need food that works for a mixed crowd. We are the street-food truck at the curb, not a dumpling kitchen, and that is why we work as an add-on.

    When to book

Aim to ask by Saturday, January 2, 2027

Early February is a quieter stretch for outdoor events, but school and office celebrations cluster in the same week. Four to five weeks of notice is usually comfortable.

A suggestion based on roughly 5 weeks of notice, not a deadline. Nothing is booked until you confirm.

    Lunar New Year

A food truck for Lunar New Year.

Lunar New Year is celebrated by Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese and many other communities, from Annandale’s Koreatown to the Eden Center in Falls Church and family gatherings across Montgomery County. The next one falls on Saturday, February 6, 2027. The start of the Year of the Goat.

Families keep the traditional dishes at home. Where we fit is the school celebration, the office party or the community night where you need hot food for many people who eat differently. Everything on the truck is halal, which keeps the menu open to Muslim guests too.

    Planning tips

    • February is cold: pick a spot where the line can stand close to the building.
    • Celebrations run for days after the new year, and a weekday later in the week can be easier to book.
    • Tell us if the event has its own traditional food, and we plan quantities around it.
