Why drop-off works here.
Bethesda’s big employers sit behind security perimeters, and a truck simply is not getting through the gate. For a lab meeting or a staff thank-you, a drop-off that can be met at a visitor center and carried in is the realistic way to bring in lunch.
Downtown, the office towers and condos around Woodmont Avenue have the same problem in a different shape: no curb, plenty of people. A halal order with falafel for the vegetarians covers most mixed groups.
