When to book
Aim to ask by Sunday, April 11, 2027
Independence Day weekend is busy for every caterer around here, so earlier gives you more choice. Early spring is a good time to ask.
A suggestion based on roughly 12 weeks of notice, not a deadline. Nothing is booked until you confirm.
Fourth of July
Independence Day falls on Sunday, July 4, 2027, so federal offices close on Monday, July 5, 2027. When the Fourth touches a weekend, the region gets a three-day weekend and the parties spread across all of it. Agencies and contractors usually celebrate on the last workday before, and neighborhoods save their biggest cookouts for the evening of the Fourth itself.
Around DC the big fireworks draw crowds downtown, but much of the celebrating happens closer to home: neighborhood parades, swim club cookouts and backyard parties timed to the local fireworks. We bring the classic cookout menu, halal from end to end.
