A halal cheesesteak can be hard to find, so plenty of people in DC, Northern Virginia and Maryland end up ordering something else while their friends get one. On the Bella Bites truck every item on the menu is halal, so the steak sandwich needs no special request and no asterisk.
It is built when you order. The steak goes on the grill sliced thin so it cooks fast, the onions and peppers grill alongside it, and the cheese melts over the pile before it all goes into the roll. That is why a busy window can mean a short wait, and why it is still hot when you sit down.
